VOIJER BIRMANS
our cats are
OUT OF THIS WORLD

Voijer is a small cattery located in northern N.J.  When I had to register a cattery name I tried to think of one that was part of my life.  I always enjoyed watching Star Trek, both the TV show and the movies, and the new series that has been on TV for the last few years.  Voyager is a ship that went on a journey to many unknown places.  This is how I thought of showing and breeding - these were new “places” and my husband and I were definitely going on a journey into unknown territory!  The spelling of Voyager was already taken; so I spelled it phonetically and that is how I came up with the name of our cattery - Voijer.

One of the places this journey has taken us is into the lynx factor cat country!  I fell in love with the look of the lynx before they were accepted to be shown in CFA.  Our first lynx, a blue-cream lynx female, came to us thanks to Linda Birkmann.  Pussetoe Wind InThe Willo of Voijer arrived here in August of 1999.  Willow was shown as an AOV in CFA, which is “any other variety” of cat; these are cats that are shown for the judges to see but who are not eligible to be awarded points toward granding.  The lynx point and red factor cats were accepted to be shown in CFA in May of 2001.  Willo’s first litter was born in July of 2000 and was a wonderful litter of four lynx point boys, two chocolate lynx, one lilac lynx, and one red lynx.  One of those boys, Voijer’s Xorcerer’s Stone (chocolate lynx point) is one of our studs.  Willow has given us many beautiful kittens.  She is retired from breeding now and has granded in Premiership.  Her children will carry on her beautiful look.

This has been quite a journey so far!
I’m looking forward to continuing on this journey.
And so... the journey continues....
